Henri Cartier-Bresson

Henri Cartier-Bresson was born on August 22, 1908 in Chanteloup-en-Brie, Seine-et-Marne, France. His interest in photography started at an early age. As a boy, he owned a Box Brownie, which he used for taking holiday snapshots. In 1931, at the age of 22, Cartier-Bresson went to the West African bush as a hunter. After a year, he returned to France after catching backwater fever. During World War II Cartier-Bresson briefly served in the French Army. During the Battle of France, he was captured by the Germans. It took him two tries to escape from a prisoners of war camp. Cartier-Bresson died in Montjustin, France on August 3, 2004, aged 95. He was buried in the local cemetery and was survived by his wife, Martine Franck, and daughter, Mélanie.

Our group was inspired by the photographer by the years he lived through and how he served in WWII. Even though we didn't choose the photographer we ended up getting a mater in photography that took black and white photos.

Artistic Review

As an advanced photo student one of the assignments is to review a web page. The page that will be reviewed is BryanFarley.com. The webpage is a professional photographer's webpage used to present his photos to the public. The viewers are able to view the artist's photos and can contact him for a photo. The webpage has several problems that viewers would run into.

One concept that stands out is that the website has nothing to make it stand out, its really plain. Once you type in the url address in the search bar you are brought to Bryan Farley's webpage but theirs barley anything to grab your attention except for the photos. The website should add some more details in background and headings to grab the viewers attention. The rearrangement of the photos should be in a layout that stands out more.

The website has a lot of features that stand out like the pictures they are really good he captures lot of emotions and settings. The navigating bar should be edited to be able to notice it more and being able to get from one page to another. Overall the webpage does have some great qualities and is very dependable.

Camera Review

The Canon EOS Rebel T3i delivers excellent video capabilities and image and video quality. the Canon T3i shares the excellent image quality of its predecessor and offers the articulating LCD, remote flash control, and creative filters also found in the 60D. With Full HD video support, fast autofocus, and good quality optics, the Canon EOS Rebel T3i is easy to recommend.

Yosemite Photography

Shawn Reeder is in my opinion one of the best photographers of Yosemite. His Photographs are unique and captures all of Yosemite at different angles. Photographers are paid to take pictures of Yosemite. They sell their art work to the people and some are hired to take the pictures.
If I were photographing Yosemite i would try to capture the thins you don't get to see when going to Yosemite. I would want to be world famous at photographing Yosemite

Appearance of Light

The skylight brought light into the hallway and shined all over the book. The light created a strong glare on the book that when I looked at it, i was forced to close my eyes. The book also created a shadow on the floor because it was stoping the light from passing th the floor. The light reflected off the book and shined all over our faces, making each one of us brighter than before.
